"Tragic Toll: Kaduna-Zaria Expressway Crash Claims Six Lives, Urgent Call for Road Safety Advocacy"

The Kaduna Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported a tragic road crash on the Kaduna-Zaria expressway, resulting in six fatalities and 11 injuries. Sector Commander Mr. Kabir Nadabo disclosed that the accident occurred near Aliko filling station on Tuesday at 06:25hrs, attributing it to speeding and dangerous driving.

Nadabo explained that a Toyota bus traveling from Ilesha to Batsari, Katsina State, lost control at high speed, colliding with another vehicle and causing the crash. The rescue team, Zebra 35 Rigachikun, responded promptly, clearing the road for movement.

While expressing sadness over the incident, Nadabo emphasized that many accidents on the highway involved motorists from other states, often due to fatigue. The FRSC, as the lead agency in transport management, reiterated its commitment to saving lives and promoting road safety awareness.

He called on stakeholders, especially transport unions, to advocate safety among drivers. The FRSC in Kaduna established safety measures to guide transporters during the festive season, emphasizing the importance of cultivating safe behavior on the roads. Nadabo urged all road users to adhere to safe driving practices and announced ongoing efforts to collaborate with media outlets for public awareness on road safety issues.
