MC Oluomo Resigns as NURTW Lagos Chairman Amid Speculations of National Presidential Aspirations

MC Oluomo, also known as Musiliu Akinsanya, has reportedly stepped down as the chairman of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Lagos State. Speculations suggest that MC Oluomo is eyeing the position of the NURTW's national president and resigned after a meeting at Government House, Alausa, Ikeja, with Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other key stakeholders.

Sources indicate that President Bola Tinubu played a role in Oluomo's resignation, motivated by a desire to avoid controversy. The financial allure of leading the Lagos State chapter, compared to the national leadership, may have contributed to Oluomo's decision not to pursue the role of national president.

It was revealed that Tinubu, not wanting media coverage with Oluomo due to perceived controversy, influenced Oluomo's resignation. Allegedly, Fuji musician Wasiu Ayinde K1, Kusenla III, and Oba Saheed Ademola Elegushi were instructed to communicate to Oluomo that he must step down as the NURTW Lagos chairman to avoid potential disgrace through removal.

The move to appoint Mustapha Adekunle (Sego), the current NURTW treasurer in Lagos State, as Oluomo's successor in leading the transport workers' union in Lagos is anticipated.
