Governor Fubara Keeps Mum on Private Meeting with President Tinubu Amidst Political Tensions

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has chosen to keep silent about the discussions held during his private meeting with President Bola Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Thursday.

Fubara, arriving alone at the State House around 5:35 pm, notably lacked the usual entourage of aides and loyalists present on his previous visits, and his estranged godfather, Minister Nyesom Wike, was also absent.

Despite persistent inquiries from the media seeking details of the meeting, Fubara remained tight-lipped, stating simply, "It was a private visit."

While the official purpose of the meeting remains undisclosed, there are indications that it might be linked to the ongoing political dispute between Fubara and Wike over control of Rivers State's political structure.

It is worth noting that President Tinubu had recently intervened in the crisis, outlining resolutions to be implemented by both Fubara's faction and Wike's.
